net·work·er, noun : A networker is a person who actively builds and maintains valuable relationships with many key people. These relationships enable networkers to quickly tap into people who are willing and able to assist them in accomplishing their goals. Good networkers always give first and expect nothing in return but understand that with enough good relationships there is always someone there to assist them at exactly the right time. Sometimes it’s a friend and other times it’s a friend-of-a-friend. Networking requires generosity, faith, trust and optimism.
I was working on my next book entitled, "A Simple Guide to Networking for New Professionals" and I wrote the paragraph above. Sometimes we get into all the stories and lessons and techniques about networking and forget the basic definition of a Networker. I thought it would make a good Networking Note.
